Andel’s award winning Floodline Leak Detection equipment has been installed in many Art Galleries and Museums such as Tate (Britain & Modern), British Museum (Great Court), Manchester Museum and the National Museum of Scotland to protect against potentially damaging leaks from water services. Due to the design of older historic & heritage buildings, services such as heating & cooling pipework are difficult to maintain and therefore cannot be protected against serious or damaging leaks.

Water Leak Detection systems are often installed within these buildings to protect the actual fabric & structure of the building, i.e. ornate ceilings, walls and floors etc., as well as offering protection and an early warning before major damage is caused to valuable and even priceless antiques and works of art displayed within the building.

Most often plant rooms, roof spaces and basements are considered to be the principal sources of leaks in these types of buildings.Floodline point sensors are usually used here. Detection cable can be applied directly to pipes or run on, or behind, display cabinets. Floodline Control Panels are installed to suit the application, either small stand-alone Single Zone systems, or much larger Multi-Zone Control Panels, offering the capability for reporting back to central BMS monitoring systems using either volt-free contacts or RS232/485 Comms.

“The Floodline system has saved us on several occasions. I hate to think what would have happened without it.”
